Fern
Ferns have been a popular choice in home decor for years because of their green appearance. Although they are often referred to as “dried ferns,” this is not entirely accurate. If you were to actually dry ferns, they would lose their freshness and curl up into a shriveled mass. For this reason, most decorative arrangements use preserved or stabilized ferns. These ferns retain their natural beauty and flexibility without needing water or care.
Preserved Ferns
Preserving ferns is a process where the moist sap of the plant is replaced with a special liquid, which ensures that the fern retains its vibrant green colour and soft texture. This allows preserved ferns to look as if they have just been picked, while in fact they retain their shape for months, if not years. This makes them perfect for long-lasting decorations, such as in dried flower bouquets or as a subtle green accent in flower arrangements.
Using Preserved Ferns
Preserved ferns are ideal for a variety of decorative applications. They are flexible and easy to incorporate into flower arrangements, wall decorations or table decorations. By retaining their natural appearance, they give a space a calming and fresh atmosphere, without the maintenance of living plants. Their sustainable nature and longevity make them increasingly popular in interior designs where greenery is central.
